News for the week of Nov. 9-13
Bible - This week we will learning about Jacob favorite son, Joseph. Our memory verse passage is Matthew 5:1-12. There will be a verse quiz on Matthew 5:11 on Friday.
Reading - We are working on "Main Idea" this week. The tests will be next week, so begin practicing this thinking process on non-fiction texts this week.
Reading Fluency - Work on "Betty Botter" tongue twister.
English - We are beginning our unit on letter-writing.
Spelling - No spelling test this week.
Math - Practice building speed with +5 and +6 facts.
Social Studies - We will be learning about various groups of people who went out west and the reasons that motivated them. We will be discovering what it was like to travel out west with the pioneers. Pioneer projects are due on Monday, Nov. 9. We will also continue learning the locations of the 50 states on the U.S. map. Our next region is the 12 states in the Southeast (SE) region: Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. The quiz on the location of these states will be next Wednesday.

Notes for the week
- Awards chapel this Thursday at 8:30. Honor roll students will be recognized at this chapel.
-Be planning to attend our Thanksgiving chapel on Thurs. 11/19 at 8:30.
-We will have a simple Thanksgiving party on Friday 11/20 from 2-3p.m. We will make a craft and have some goodies. If you are able to send in some treats or drinks, please contact Shari Robb at simonrobb@bellsouth.net to let her know what you will send.
