Reading Interventionist

My job is to give your child the extra reading and writing support they need to become lifelong readers !  Each day we will read some books we that we already know.  We will work on word solving skills, and writing.  Then I will choose a new book that is just right for your child. We will talk about it and read it together.  Then your child will bring a book home to read to you.  Please take time to listen to them read their book and fill out the

reading log.

Reading Tools:

• Look at the picture
• Get your mouth ready
• Ask "Does it make Sense?"
• Ask "Does it Look Right?"
• Ask "Does it Sound Right?"
• Re-read
• Look for Chunks of the word you know
• Use punctuation: , . ? ! " "
• Fluency - Sounds like talking!
