Our reading skill for this theme is making connections. Students will focus on making connections in text to other text by comparing and contrasting story elements (setting, characters, plot, etc.) We will also be finishing cause and effect. If we have time this week, we will begin learning about fact and opinion. Word Study: Students will focus on contractions this week. (ex: can’t, don’t, won’t) Don’t forget to study daily language (bellwork).
Test- Cold Comprehension test- Thursday, adjective- Friday, Cause and Effect- Wednesday, Daily Language- Thursday
Math Last week, we did not get to start learning about congruent figures (exactly alike) and similar figures (different sizes but otherwise the same) so that will begin this week. We will also review lines of symmetry from second grade and our 2 D figures from last week. Don’t forget to study math 4 today (bellwork).

Social Living This week, we are beginning something new in Science. Our focus in on “The Sun and Earth”. We will look at the Earth and its relation to the Sun. (Text pages 264-267, and 274-280) Test- “The Sun and Earth”- Friday
