USIE’S NEWS - Week of May 9 - 13, 2011
AHOY, Mateys! – keeping to the code, swabbing the decks and stowing all gear as we are nearing port. (reviewing and Final progress report card testing)
Social Living/Science – identify easily observable variations within types of plants. Discuss ways in which we use plants.
Language Arts – Initiate and sustain conversations. Ask and answer questions about read-aloud text. Make connections between text and real-life experiences. Students should continue to read 20 minutes every night (this will be a great time to use books from their shoebox library or others) and practice sight words. Rereading familiar books helps with fluency and confidence.
Math – Count by ones and identify numbers to 20. Complete any pages in math book that you haven’t done between now and the end of summer.
Other: ALL Library books need to be returned. NO checks will be accepted after May 2. Field day money due on or before May 13. any students that have had unacceptable behavior will not be able to attend.
Upcoming Activities in: May: 13th - field day 23rd - Kindergarten Awards 9:00 a.m. in room E-7 25th - PBIS student choice day 25TH - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
