April 10-13, 2012

Language Arts:

This week we are working on a poetry unit.  We will explore different types of poems and explore writing poetry.  In writing, we are going to begin our last 5page book.  Language Arts homework is due on Friday.  This will be the last week for language arts homework.

Phonics/Spelling: 

This week we are working on the sounds: reviewing long a and e vowel teams.  Our spelling words for the week are a review: week, weeks, frogs, grow, road, show,played, jumped, needed, going, saying, eating, bedtime, backpack, inside. Our spelling test will be on Thursday. 

Math: 

This week we are working on: identifying a half-dollar, estimating, measuring with centimeters, and we will take and discuss quiz 22.  Keep practicing addition and subtraction facts.

Monday: Activity Set 106

Tuesday: Activity Set 107 and 108

Wednesday: Activity 109

Thursday: No Homework

Science:

We are working on the science unit titles “Variations, Changes, and Adaptations to the Environment”.  This week we will be identifying animal habitats.

·      Please see above for the math homework for: May7-11.

·      All library books are due.  If your child has lost their library book, it must be paid for in order for you to receive their report card.  A letter will be coming home if your child is missing their library book.

·      This will be the last week we will have spelling and language arts homework.

·      Language Arts homework due Friday.

·      Deep math quiz 21 and spelling test on THURSDAY.

·       Our End of the year awards program will be on Monday, May 21^st at 12:45.

·      Field Day is Friday, May 11^th.  Wrist bands are $10.  Please remember that we are no longer accepting checks.  The office is only accepting cash.

·      Art Raffle ends Thursday, May 10^th. (Raffle tickets are $2.00/each or 6 tickets for $10.00)   

·      Remember to continue to read EVERY night!!!!
