Happy Fall Everyone!!!! It's hard to believe that it's already the end of October. We've so busy and working really hard. The class seemed to enjoy our John A. Walker visit to watch "The Plant That Ate the Dirty Socks". They remarked on how funny the play was. Our next upcoming field trip will be on October 29th to Raven Knob. We will leave promptly at 8:15 am and return at 2:15 pm. My class has been discussing the importance of manners and "The Essential 55" rules that comply to field trip etiquette. The third grade has just completed there first try with book clubs. My book club read Pigs Might Fly, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We now have a better understanding of summaries and making connections to a book. We ended our book club by making pigs that fly and molding a few pigs from clay. In math, we are working on graphs, mean, median, mode and range. Please remember to study each night with your child on their multiplication. We've completed our Social Studies unit on maps and geographical places and Fire Safety importance in Health. We will begin another unit in science focusing on our skeletal system. Remember to work hard with your child at home as we are working hard at school. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at 835-5640. Sincerely, Mrs. Chipman |
