We are starting a poetry unit.

The students are first doing a heart map - what memories, moments, people, animals, objects, places, books, fears, scars, friends, siblings, parents, grandparents, teachers, other people, journeys, secrets, dreams, crushes, realtionships, comforts, learning experiences are in your heart?

We will be learning about metaphors and similies.

We will be working on a bio poem.

Then we will discuss "where poetry hides"

Students will then attempt to write their own poem...
