Welcome To Our Kindergarten News

November 30- December 4

PYP Unit:

"Where In The World Are We From?"

Letter: Bb

     Note:

Don't forget we will return to school on Monday, the 30th.

Red shirts are due December 2nd for the Christmas program.

Thank you for participating in Spirit week and the food sent for the Thanksgiving Feast!  The children had a great time.  There was a very nice variety of food sent.

We will attend "A Magical Dream" at Delta State BPAC on December 11th at 10:00.  This is a cute play, featuring some of our HCC students.  Students will only pay for transportation.

The Christmas program will be December 18th at 8:30.  You are invited to attend.  Please make sure your child has a winter hat and scarf.  They will wear them with the red shirt for the program.

After the program, we will ride the bus to the Cleveland Personal Care to sing to the residents and give out small gifts.  We will send home a letter with suggested items for you to buy to give the residents.  The gifts should be wrapped.

When we leave the Cleveland Personal Care, we will eat lunch at a local fast food resturant.  We will include the amount of money you will need to send for the Happy Meal in our letter.
We are letting you know about this trip early in case you want to make plans to take off work and go with us.

Please label all coats, hats, and gloves with your child's name.

Please make sure  your child is in the habit of washing his/her hands often.  With all kinds of viruses going around, we want our children to practice good hygiene habits and to stay healthy.

Please keep your child home if he/she is running fever.

If your child is a car rider, please make sure that he/she is not dropped off at school before 7:30 in the mornings.

When you send the popcorn/ice cream sheet back, you must make a selection and write the child's name on the sheet.  Please make sure you send the sheet and money in a Ziplock bag.  Some of the students are arriving with money in hand.  They put the money on our desks; and we do not who the money is for!

Ice cream and popcorn will be sold each Friday (unless someone has a birthday on a given Friday).
Ice cream is $1.00.
Popcorn is $.50.

Please refer to the GO GREEN Project sheet we sent home on Parent Orientation night for items to be sent to the school for recycling:

  • Printer cartridges
  • Batteries
  • Cell phones
  • Old crayons
  • Empty Elmer's Glue bottles
  • Aluminum cans

Each Tuesday will be designated as "No Trash Tuesday".  If your child brings their lunch to school, we encourage you to pack their food in resusable containers, use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins, and supply them with metal utensils instead of plastic.

During the month of August, we ask that all students wear GREEN each Tuesday to support our GO GREEN PROJECT.  The class that has the most participation each Tuesday will be rewarded with a special treat!

Watch for Hayes Cooper Center Conservation Tips on Schoolnotes monthly.  We also hope to work with our local newspapers to promote conservation.

Hayes Cooper Booster Club is selling reusable shopping bags for $1.50 each.  The money raised through this project supports our school's educational excursion fund.  If you want to buy these bags, please send your money to us in an envelope with your child's name written on it.

       Have a good week!
