Week of Nov. 16-20 Language Arts: Spelling words are: mop, top,hop, hot, not, got, stop,eat, sing, sings. The focus will be on short /o/ vowels and plurals. The new word wall words are: by, them, stop, eat, sing Lang. Arts skills: Making predictions, word families(-ick, -ock, -up,-an, -op),cause and effect, good communications skills, answering a question with a telling sentence Math: Calendar skills, learning strategies for subtraction facts to 10, counting by 1, 5 and 10 to 100 Science: Magnetism- repelling and attracting Social Studies--Contributions of Eleanor Roosevelt;history of Thanksgiving; distinguishing between past and present 1st grade Program: Tues. Nov. 17 @ 6:00 No school:Nov. 25-27 No spelling test that week!
