Week of Nov. 2-6 Language Arts: Spelling test will begin this week. The words are: six, fix, mix, in, him, did, on, fox, box, they. The focus will be on short /i/ vowels and /x/ as a final consonant. The new word wall words are: they, on, how, many, why Lang. Arts skills: rhyming words, story order, predicting, importance of word order in sentences and opposites Math: Calendar skills, learning strategies for addition facts to 10, counting by 1, 5 and 10 to 100 Science: Life process with emphasis on peanuts (SOL 1.4) Social Studies--Contributions of George Washington Carver and discussion of Election Day
