WELCOME TO THE WOODSON PLANETARIUM

The Margaret C. Woodson Planetarium is a 70 seat facility with a 30 foot dome, Spitz A3P star projector, East Coast Control System automation and digital video projection. It was established in 1968 with monies from a Title III grant and the Woodson Foundation. School programs are offered on a daily basis to Kindergarten through Sixth grade classes. In addition, the planetarium does programming by special request for special needs groups, high school and college classes, and community groups. 

The public is invited to attend shows at 5:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month, year round. Tickets go on sale at 4:30 p.m. and are $3.00 per adult and $2.00 for children (12 and under).

 Recently the facility was upgraded with AVI's Skylase full-color, full-dome laser system. Public laser shows will be offered at least one weekend per quarter. Matinee (5:00 p.m.) admission is $3.00 per adult and $2.00 per child (12 and under). Evening (7:00 p.m.) admission is $5.00 per adult and $3.00 per child (12 and under).
