Class News
The standardized testing is over and the children have done such a great job. The pajama reading day was a blast! It was a treat to see the youngsters relaxed reading with a blanket and a book. I hope that it is a memory that will last them a lifetime. The kids. The year seems to be flying by, but yet the children still have much to learn. The children have grown both physically and academically, and it is a pleasure to observe it.
Please be sure to encourage your child to read each and every evening. Some are having difficulty maintaining an 85% correct accuracy rate. It is important for the students to read carefully rather than solely focusing on the number of points earned.
The bottom of this page contains links that your family might find helpful. One of which is a link to study aids for Lee County students. At the very bottom of it is a DVD of the Spalding phonograms. This is a great place to practice the phonograms! The sight word practice might prove to be beneficial as well.
Have a great week,
Mrs. Jordan
P.S. Please keep sending in those box tops! We are having a competition against other classes as to which class can collect the most box tops!
Please be aware that there is another Mrs. Jordan teaching second grade at Caloosas Elementary. When completing paperwork, phone calls, etc. please designate our class by using Mrs. L. Jordan.
