This agenda is for this week and next.  Signed papers for last week will go out next Tuesday.

 

What We’re Learning

ELA (English Language Arts)-

Comprehension- Monitor/Clarify words and ideas, using fix-up strategies, Reading Personal Narratives

Vocabulary Words: reside, route, state

(Please study and discuss the vocabulary words with your child each night. Have them use them in a sentence and tell you what they mean.)   

Writing- Organization, main idea and details

Grammar- proper nouns: titles for people (ect. Mr., Mrs., Dr.,), titles of books

Phonics/Spelling- vowel-consonant-e

Spelling words: these, nose, use, rose, pole, close, cute, those, mule, one, love, come, home, joke

**Bonus: wrote, ice cube  (Spelling Test Next Friday)

Wed- (10/28)- Spelling book pg. 36- sort words by their long vowel sound

Thur-(10/29)- pg. 37 (11-20)

Mon- (11/2)- pg. 38 (1-10)

Tue- (11/3)-Write your words in ABC order

Wed- (11/4)- Use your words in a sentence

Thur- (11/5)-Study for your spelling test

 

MATH-

DEEP Math- area, centimeters & fractions (fifths & sixth)    Quiz 5a (Wed 11/5)             

*** This Friday and next Friday will be a facts quiz. 

 

SOCIAL LIVING- comparing communities

 

ART- Vocal Music w/ Mrs. Kennedy-Smith

Notes            

  • Field Trip this Thursday.  We are leaving at exactly 8:30. If your child is usually late to class please make sure they are here on time.  I would suggest having them eat breakfast at home that day. 
  • You may send individually wrapped treats/candies on Friday for the children to pass out, but we will not be having a party.
