Sixth grade social studies focuses on the study of Europe and the Former Soviet Republics as well as Central and South America. Homework is assigned throughout the quarter.

    Sixth Grade Language Arts will focus on Wordskills, Journals, Grammar, & and Reading comprehension.  Homework is assigned throughout the quarter.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

PARENTS-please call homework hotline nightly. The number may be found on the title page of your child's agenda.


PARENTS-please check assignment notepads nightly to ensure that students are recording homework and studying for tests and quizzes. 


PARENTS-Please discuss with your child the necessity for proper behavior.

SOCIAL STUDIES: 
    • STUDENTS WHO ARE ABSENT MUST BORROW A FRIEND'S NOTES AND FYIs AND COPY THEM!! 
    • PARENTS: PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S NOTEBOOK ON A REGULAR BASIS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE NEAT AND ORGANIZED.
    • MAKE-UP WORK IS FOUND ON THE CALENDAR POSTED ON THE BOARD AT THE BACK OF THE ROOM. STUDENTS NEED TO COPY THEIR ASSIGNMENTS DURING HOMEROOM.

    LANGUAGE ARTS:    
    •Students will complete Wordskills 
        activities daily.  A Foldable with the
        prefixes will be completed at the
        beginning of each unit.  The foldable
        will be due the following week (after
        beginning the unit).  Wordskills work-
        books may be taken home to
        complete assignments, or they may
        be kept in the tubs in the classroom.

        •Journals will be written in at the
        beginning of class.  These journals
        MUST NOT leave the room and are
        to be kept in the tubs on the counter.
        If a student needs to finish an entry,
        they may do so during homeroom.
        Journals are assigned on Mondays,
        Wednesdays, and Fridays.

        •Grammar and Reading assignments
        will be completed as assigned.
