Welcome to my page!!! Parents, please feel free to check my site for weekly assignments and use the e-mail link to inquire about your son or daughter's progress. The following is my Fall 2009 Schedule. 1st Block - English III 2nd Block - Planning 3rd Block - Honors English III 4th Block - English III Week of November 16th English III - We will continue our study of Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, with emphasis on elementts such as Foreshadowing, Characterization, Themes - The American Dream, Connections to The Great Gatsby and The Scarlet Letter. Students will formulate chapter questions in groups and then lead the discussion each day. The questions for all of the chapters will add up to a test grade. They will also receive essay questions and should prepare a draft of one for next week. The final pages of their graduation project research paper are due on December 1st. Honors English III - Students should finish reading Of Mice and Men by Wednesday and prepare, in groups, presentations on elements of the novel - Foreshadowing, Characterization, Themes - The American Dream, Steinbeck's social commentary, Literary Connections to The Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby, Romanticism and Realism. They wil then have a choice between a literary essay or a project based on a concept from the novel. Please feel free to contact me via the above link or by phone.
