Dear Kindergarten Families,
We have been enjoying Kindergarten for 37 days!

Last week we began our "We Love the USA" Unit. We made an American Flag, with our own hands, and our own flag banners. We are also learning about the upcoming election and practicing our marching song that we will be performing at the assembly on November 4th. We will continue this unit through the month of November.

This week, "Aa" is the letter of the week. "Aa" is an apple on a branch. This letter will be a tricky one, because it's a vowel. We will learn the long and short sounds of this letter. I hope to see our 4 "Aa" people on the alphabet homework. We will make our "Aa" Book and our Green Book this week to add to the book boxes.

Big and green will be our new star words. We will have lots of fun reading Go Away Big Green Monster. Please continue to study all the star words at home. I hope that the weekly mini-assessments are helpful.

Another Kindergarten Kid will turn 6 this week. Happy Birthday to Adam! Now we have three kids that are six and seventeen that are 5.

"Aa" week will be awesome!

Upcoming Dates of Importance:
Oct. 23rd- "Green day. Please wear green to celebrate our new star word. Special Snack Today.
Oct. 24-No School-Teacher Institute Day
Oct. 27th-T-Shirts Due
Oct. 31st-Halloween Party: Wear your costume and please bring a treat to share with the class. We will trick-or-treat during the party. There are 20 kids in Kindergarten.

November Field Trip Date-Friday, Nov. 21st
We will be going to the Shedd Aquarium upon finishing our Sea Unit.

There will be NO field trip in December.
