Reading

Zippy Reader-Please remember that this is to be turned in on Friday with a parent signature for each night of reading (25 minutes a night/100 minutes a week). The books that are being read, must be AR books.

Bettis, Anderson, Hale-We have finished reading The Giver.  The students have been writing the final chapter in class.  We worked on the for a week before getting out for break.  The final copy of the paper is due on Thursday, January 8,  the students will need to turn in the rough draft along with the TYPED final copy.  This is for a grade.

Bettis, Anderson, Hale-Language Arts-We will be working on nouns this week.  We will focus on common/proper nouns, singular/plural, and a mixed review.  If you would like to review with your child, have him/her bring his/her book home.  This unit will be from the book. 

Spelling

We will have a spelling pretest on Monday, January 5 over unit 17.  If your child makes a 100 on the pretest, he/she will not have spelling options for the week, and will not have to take the test on Friday. If he/she does not make a 100, your child must complete 3 spelling options due Thursday, and take the spelling test over unit 17 on Thursday.




Social Studies
We wil review Chapter 8 in History Alive on Monday.  We will be reading and completing activities in class.
