Welcome to Lakeland Highlands Middle School! 

I hope the year has started off wonderfully for everyone.  Schoolnotes is a great tool for you to see your homework and to get assignments if you are absent.  Make sure you check schoolnotes frequently.

 

August 24th and 25th:

Activity:  Beginning of the year paperwork.  Students will be coming home with tons of papers that need to be signed and returned.  In class we will be working on informational paperwork as well.

 

August 26th and 27th:

Activity:  Ms. Steele's Classroom Procedures  These procedures will be sent home for parents to read over, sign, and return.  It is very important that we are all very aware of these procedures so we will not have any issues in the future.

August 28th and 31st:

Activity:  Review the seven continents and five oceans.  Introduction to the Atlas

HOMEWORK:  Facts on the Continents and Oceans (Worksheet) 

Gold Students will receive this Monday and it is due on Wednesday.

Silver Students will receive this on Tuesday and it is due on Thursday.

 

September 1st and 2nd:

Activity: Introduction the Geography, Textbook

             Finish Atlas Activity

 

September 4th and 8th: 

Activity:  Geography Pretest, United Streaming Video, "Physical Geography", and Geography Packet

September 9th and 10th:

Five Themes of Geography

Homework:  Workbook pages 6-8;  Students will be given a workbook to complete homework in and use as a resource at home.  It correlates directly with the textbook.

September 15 and 16:

Geographer's Tools

HW:  Workbook pages 9-11 and study world map

September 17 and 18:

Constitution Activity

Quiz:  Open Folder  Map Skills, Five Themes, Geographer's Tools

 

September 22 and 23:

Activity:  Our Planet Earth
