Week of October 5th - 9th:

Week of September 28th - October 2nd:

Monday: Make 8 Parts of Speech resource, Focus on pronouns (starting on page 351 in textbook).

Tuesday: Begin pronouns packet

Wednesday: Continue pronouns packet

Thursday: 8th Grade Explore Test - all day

Friday: Complete pronouns packet

Week of September 21st - 25th:

Monday: Continue Nouns Collages

Tuesday: Finish Nouns Collages, Begin Spelling packet #2 (Antonyms)

Wednesday: Continue Spelling packet #2, Review for Nouns Quiz

Thursday: Nouns Quiz, Check Spelling packet, create study guide for Spelling Quiz

Friday: Spelling Quiz #2, Begin Pronouns Unit

Week of September 14th - 18th:

Monday: Check Spelling WS's and Prepositions WS. Write spelling words and short definition of each word to use as a study guide.

Tuesday: Spelling Quiz #1, Begin Nouns packet

Wednesday: Continue Nouns packet

Thursday: Finish Nouns packet and grade

Friday: Make Nouns collages

Week of September 7th - 11th:

Monday: No School; Labor Day

Tuesday: Do pages 341 and 342, Chapter 10 review and receive Study Guide for Sentence Structure Quiz tomorrow.

Wednesday: Sentence Structure Quiz, grade in class, pass back papers (including narratives) - organize notebook.

Thursday: Do Spelling #1. The Glossary of Spelling Terms is for you to use all year with Spelling assignments so do not return it please.

Friday: Work on Spelling #1 for 15 minutes. Do Prepositions and Prepositional Phrases Worksheet

Week of August 31st - September 4th:

Monday: Turn in first draft if you haven't already; get first draft back with my revisions/editing. Write your revised, second draft.

Tuesday: Begin Chapter 10 over Sentence Structure. Begin worksheets, do worksheets 22 and 23.

Wednesday: Personal Narrative due. Present to a partner; turn in to Miss Patton. Do Sentence Structure worksheets 22 and 23 over Recognizing Sentences and Types of Sentences.

Thursday: Do Sentence Structure worksheets 24 and 25 over Complete Subjects and Predicates and Simple Subjects and Predicates.

Friday: Do Compound Subjects and Predicates worksheet, and check all sentence structure worksheets.

Week of August 24th - 28th:

Monday: 8th English Pretest

Tuesday: Read pages 17-21 of English book. Begin talking about personal narratives.

Wednesday: Go over Writing Process; Begin Personal Narrative writing packet (read pages 12 and 13, do pages 14 and 15)

Thursday: Do pages 16, 17, and 18 in packet. Begin prewriting Personal Narrative on pages 19, 20, and 21. Begin drafting Personal Narrative on page 22.

Friday: Revise and Proofread Personal Narrative. Miss Patton may take drafts home for editing over the weekend. (Follow pages 23-25 of packet for hints on revision and proofreading).
