REMINDERS:

YOUR CHILD BROUGHT HOME PLAY LINES TO PRACTICE.  PLEASE PRACTICE THEM DAILY WITH YOUR CHILD!  WE WILL SEND HOME A NOTE AT A LATER DATE LETTING YOU KNOW WHEN THE PLAY IS SCHEDULED!

YOUR CHILD ALSO BROUGHT HOME A NOTE ASKING YOU TO BRING A FOOD ITEM OR $.  PLEASE SEND THOSE ITEMS BY MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23.  IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEND YOUR ITEM DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS, PLEASE LET US KNOW SO THAT WE CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO GET THE ITEM.  THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR SENDING THE NEEDED ITEMS. 

IF YOUR CHILD IS GENERALLY COLD, PLEASE SEND A JACKET OR SWEATSHIRT FOR THEM TO KEEP IN THE CLASSROOM.  THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WEAR THEIR OUTSIDE COAT IN THE CLASSROOM.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE DO HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES TO BE AWARE OF THIS YEAR SO PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LETTER YOU RECEIVED IN THE MAIL AS TO WHAT YOU CAN AND CAN NOT BRING!  PLEASE SEND YOUR $10 FOR SNACKS BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2009.  WE WILL BE SENDING ALL OF THE SNACKS THAT YOU SENT HOME ON FRIDAY ALSO.  THANK YOU TO ALL FOR YOUR COOPERATION WITH THIS MATTER!

SHOW AND TELL IS ON FRIDAY.  YOUR CHILD MAY BRING SOMETHING TO SHOW AND SHARE WITH THE CLASS.  THE ITEM MUST FIT IN YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK.  THERE WILL BE NO LIVE ANIMALS FOR SHOW AND TELL DUE TO ALLERGIES.

IF YOUR DAUGHTER WEARS A DRESS OR SKIRT, PLEASE HAVE HER WEAR SHORTS UNDERNEATH AS WE DO SPEND TIME ON THE FLOOR.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ARE STRIVING FOR INDEPENDENCE.  PLEASE LET YOUR CHILD DO THINGS LIKE ZIP HIS/HER COAT, PRACTICE TYING SHOES, CARRY HIS/HER OWN BACKPACK/LUNCHBOX, BE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING HIS/HER NOTES, FRIDAY FOLDER ETC. INTO THE CLASSROOM AND TO THE TEACHER.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!!






Library Day is on Wednesday! Bring back Library books by Wednesday.



We have P.E. on Tuesday and Friday. If your daughter wears a skirt, be sure she wears shorts under it. If your child wears flip-flops, please make sure that they have P.E. shoes. Without tennis shoes, they will not be able to participate in P.E.



MATH:
        We are finishing working with numbers 0-5.  We will begin working with comparing objects and graphing.  When we write our numbers, we have sayings to help the kids recall how to write them.  I have posted these sayings below.  We continue to review patterns and  sorting and classifying.  Please have your child do some extra sorting at home.  Such as sorting those socks that nobody likes to sort through, silverware, etc.   Please ask you child to find patterns for you.  Please review position words with your child every evening.

1 - A parachute drops down from the sun, # 1

2 - Around the track, stop, and back two, two

3 - Around the tree, stop, back around the tree, # 3

4 - Down, stop, across, off, down once more, # 4

5 - First you make the neck, then you make the tummy, put on his hat, he's alive, # 5

LANGUAGE ARTS:

       This week we are working on the words to and have.  We have learned the following words so far this year  I, can, we, the, like, a, see, & go.  We are working with the letter Nn and Cc this week.  We have learned the following letters so far: Mm, Aa, Ss, Pp, Tt, & Ii.  Please review the sight words each night with your child.  Ask your child to tell you things that start with Mm, Aa, Ss, Pp, Tt, & Ii.
  

HANDWRITING:

  We are learning to write the letter Nn and Cc.  We will practice how to write letter Mm, Aa, Ss, Pp, Tt, & Ii.  Please monitor your child's pencil grip when they are writing or coloring.   We continue to practice writing our name correctly on the lines.

BOOK-IT

    Remember to be reading to your child for book-it.  After you have read to them for 15 days, please sign and return their goldenrod calendar so they can get their free personal pan pizza and put up their sticker on the chart.
