Mrs. Miller’s Class February 6th – 10th Homework Calendar
This WeekWe Will Be Learning: Fast Track Phonics: &
Spelling: & Wewill begin with Set 15 this week. Ourspelling words are:
Reading/Social Living: (Theme: “Animals Grow and Change”) & Inour theme, we will be learning the following: · Phonics: Words with Long u · Phonemic Awareness: Word Rhyming; Phoneme Matching · Comprehension: Create Images: Enhance Understanding · Vocabulary Words: mammal, reptile, young ·
& Science: Living/Non-living Things
Writing/Grammar & Writing Focus: Students will begin writing their 5-page books thisweek. These books will be a researchbook on a polar animal. & Grammar Focus: We will be reviewing Unit 1 (Sentences), Unit3 (Nouns/Pronouns), and Unit 5 (Verbs) this week. We will take our cumulative review test onFriday.
Math: & OurDeep Math activities this week include: Time – Which Takes Longer? & Telling Time to the Hour. We will also take Quiz 10 this week. & Pleasecontinue to practice addition and subtraction flashcards every day.
TEACHER NOTES: · Valentinesand/or treats: Please send in by Monday,February 13th. · A.R.Tests: Students are now takingAccelerated Reader quizzes on their Library books. They can earn rewards for reading andsuccessfully passing the quizzes. Theycan also trade their library book as soon as they are finished with aquiz. Please help your child read andunderstand his/her library book. · Continueto read every night! Have your childpractice reading “like he/she is talking” to gain fluency. Rereading familiar text over and over willalso help to build reading fluency! · Pleasekeep this packet together and return it by Friday.
