This WeekWe Will Be Learning:

Fast Track Phonics:

Wewill be learning the following sounds:  oo (as in moon), & ar (as in car)

Spelling:

Wewill begin with Set 8 this week.  Ourspelling words are:

Reading/Social Living:(Theme:  “Community Workers”)

Inour theme, we will be learning the following:

Phonics:  -ick / -ack word familes

Phonemic Awareness:  Phoneme Isolation, Phoneme Segmentation

Comprehension:  Infer; Review:  Synthesize/Summarize

Vocabulary Words:  involve, deliver, support

Fluency:  Use Punctuation to inform Meaning

Social Living:  Community Workers

Writing/Grammar

Writing Focus:  We will begin learning about what author’s writeabout.  Our focus will be “Writing aboutPeople You Know”. 

Grammar Focus:  Review: Pronouns:  he, she, it, & they; Synonyms in sentences

Math:

Wewill continue with subtraction this week. Our focus will be counting back 3, relating addition to subtraction, andProblem Solving.

TEACHER NOTES:

BookFair is going on this week!  If you wouldlike to come and shop with your child, come any day and they may join you inthe library.  Otherwise, send them withshopping money on Friday (this is our library day)

Pleasekeep this packet together and return it by Friday.
