December 1-5
I hope that everybody had a fantastic Thanksgiving break! We had a great time making pumpkin bread. A big thank you to C.J.'s mom for sending in extra aprons for the students to use!
Our book report will be due on Friday, December 5th. The students need to be sure to make their Reading Counts test by December 5th also.
Cardiac Kids is Friday. Please read your guidelines if you signed for your child to participate in this event.
The Holiday Shop will be this week. Your child will bring home a paper to create a Christmas list if you would like to participate.
Please encourage your child to practice Just the Facts on First in Math. I will be taking a grade on all four sections of Just the Facts, and students should continue to practice these until they have a score above 85%. I will be sending home the scores that each child has made on these four sections.
We continue to have the most stickers in first in math! The students have done a great job on this website.
Please check your child's work. Any grade below a C must be signed by a parent or guardian, and your child has the option of correcting his or her work.
- Popcorn will be sold on Wednesday. It is fifty cents.
- Our specials are at 9:15 daily. They are as follows:
Monday-Music, Tuesday-PE, Wednesday-Library Thursday-Music Friday-PE
Math-We will be working with decimals this week. There will be a quiz on Friday on the Math 4 Today concepts.
Reading-"A Passage to Freedom" 166-177. The target skill is Author's Purpose. The vocabulary for this story is in the flashcards, and there will be a test on Friday.
Spelling-Irregular Plurals, Spelling words can be found in the flashcards and on Spellingcity.com, test on Friday
Language--Possessive Nouns, assessment on Friday
Science--We will continue to work on the chapter Cells to Systems and visiting several different websites to reinforce what the students learn
