Welcome!
Students are number One!
We have been a Response to Intervention (RtI) school for 3 years. With IDEA 2004 Reauthorization, each school district ( LEA) can decide to either use the discrepancy model or a processing model to determine eligibility or "entitlement" for Special Education services. Entitlement includes the 5 mild disabilities, which include Educably Mentally Disabled, Specific Learning Disabled, Other Health Impaired, Behaviorally-Emotionally Disabled, and Developmentally Delayed. The key to RtI is progress monitoring and making educational decisions based on DATA, which in turn drives direct instruction, scientifically based, peer reviewed interventions.
If you have any questions, call the school and ask for a conference and more information.
