HENDERSON CLASS NEWSLETTER

TO PARENTS & STUDENTS:

MATH, we are making multiplication arrays, memorizing multiplication facts, collecting and graphing data, averaging numbers, problem solving boards.

SCIENCE, we complete,(Comparing Solids, Liquids, and Gases)p. 138-147 and (Building Blocks of Matter)p. 152-159 in our Science Textbook. Worksheets will come home in Science Folder, recapping what is studied in class.
ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO ALWAYS UNDERLINE & NUMBER WHERE THEY FIND THE ANSWERS WHEN USING WORKSHEETS WHICH REQUIRE READING COMPREHENSION.(Science) Do not write in the textbook.

SOCIAL STUDIES, we continue to learn about different types of maps/geography/communities through our Facts about Fiji/enVision Literature connection and more... (classwork only). We continue to focus on the world map, continents, and using an Atlas.

PARENTS CORNER
Thank you parents for sending candies to use in our estimating jar. The kids love to make estimations and they will get better and better with practice..... All donations are welcomed! Please keep in mind that we have two students in our classes who are allergic to peanut butter. Try to make sure the counters you send do not have any peanut butter content.

BLOCK 1 will receive their project on countries this week. It is a little later than I originally expected due to changes I decided to make at the last minute.
Students have been given a multiplication facts study sheet. I have flashcards available to check out to students if they'd like to take them home to practice. They can just let me know. We will test x2 and x3 week of 11/3. Please visit online: Oswego City School District Math Games.

HOMEWORK: Will be sent home as an extension of what your child has learned in class. Please review homework with your child and sign each calendar date in agenda(after student completes assignment)

BIRTHDAY TREATS GUIDELINES:
Treats must be scheduled with teacher before sending.
Treats can only be served after 2 pm.
Please SEND COOKIES instead of cupcakes as we are serving in our classroom and cupcakes can be very messy.
