Welcome to Mrs. Conklin's page!

About Me

I am happy to be teaching here at North Rowan Elementary. This is my third year here. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a French and Elementary Education degree. I love to travel and I love learning new languages.

Parents/Guardians

Please take the responsibility each night for checking your child's Agenda. This will ensure that you know what needs to be done in my classroom. I also tend to leave notes in the agenda quite often. I love to keep good contact with parents and let them know what is going on in the classroom.

Homework

Homework is given out when needed. We will have to read for at least twenty minutes each night. Vocabulary and spelling will be given out every Monday for students to study. Students who do not complete their homework will receive a "click" and get silent lunch so that they may work on it.

Remember to read every night. This will help you grow in your reading level.

Also, be sure to practice your multiplication. Math is like a tree and multiplication is the root.

Our "Click" System

Every week students will get a new card. Each time a student forgets homework and/or breaks a school or classroom rule, their card will be "clicked" or hole punched. Students may get get up to three hole punches a week to participate in our Reward Play (an extra amount of time, besides recess, to play outside). Four or more clicks will mean students will stay behind and do work that we are supposed to be doing for that period.

I do give "slicks", or minus clicks. These are given to students who go the extra mile... help out around the classroom without being asked, complimenting other students, etc.

Thank you parents and students for a wonderful year!!!! School ends June 10th. Please have a safe summer!
