November News
This month we will read about veterans and find out ways that people may honor them. In science we will use the food pyramid as a tool to learn about nutrition and keeping our bodies healthy. We will listen to books about November, the pilgrims, stone soup and Thanksgiving as we practice literacy objectives. Students continue to practice spelling, use of punctuation and writing complete sentences in their stories and written response to literature. In Fundations we will work on Units 3 & 4. Homelink packs will be sent home to help your child practice the skills presented in class lessons. Remember to send work back to school to be graded for homework. Our Math Topics will include 3,4 & 5. The students benefit from the additional support and practice the home letter /activities provide. Please note how your child responds to the tasks and provide support as needed. Talk with your child about what it means for them to do their best at school. Listening to others, following directions, paying attention and focus to task will increase your child's self-concept and growth in skills. Review the school rules with them regarding behavior. I hope to see you at conferences later this month. Wishing you and your family a peaceful, Happy Thanksgiving. |
