While in I.S.S. the student will follow the schedule below:

1. First day: Copy the appropriate CONTRACT and sign. Complete all daily classroom work assigned.

Central Schools I.S.S. Expectations Rules and Contract – Middle School

**Copy the entire rules and contract onto your own paper and sign it.**

This will be done the first day each time you are assigned ISS in the future.

Rules:

1. While serving time in I.S.S. you are not to be in the halls of the high school. Each morning you should report straight to the I.S.S. room when the bus drops you off. You will be dismissed at the end of the day when the bus arrives to pick you up to take you back to the Middle School around 2:30 p.m., unless you’ve made prior arrangements with Mr. Harlow or Mr. Huff.

2. Only one student should be out of his or her seat at a time. Students may be told to wait for permission if this privilege is abused. Always face the direction of the chair you are sitting in.

3. Students should be working or reading at all times. Sleeping is not permitted. A student’s head must be kept up at all times, without the aid of their hands, arms or any other object.

4. Students are not permitted to talk or interact with other students without permission. This includes notes. Absolutely no note writing or passing. Drawing is not allowed except for school assignments.

5. You will be given a schedule of assignments to be completed for the day. It is your responsibility to get the assignments, complete and turn them in. The I.S.S. teacher may walk around the room to observe the work of the students and check the assignment upon completion. .

6. Anytime a student must leave I.S.S. between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 2:41 p.m., an additional day may be assigned and must be attended in order to fulfill his or her assignment to I.S.S.. This includes unexcused tardies.

7. Restroom breaks will be taken as a class. Students will walk quietly to the restroom by the auditorium. Boys will stand on one side and girls on the other side of the hall going toward the restroom. When finished you should form a line in the hallway by the library. Remain standing quietly until everyone has finished. We will have one break in the morning and one in the afternoon. NO other restroom breaks will be allowed. NO talking from students to and from the restrooms. Times are posted and are only used as a guide.

8. Lunch will be in the cafeteria at 12:05 on regular days and 12:15 on RAP days. NO food or drinks will be taken out of the lunchroom by students, nor will they be purchased from any vending machine during lunch.

9. Cell phones will be turned OFF while in the I.S.S. room.

10. Any student who violates the above rules will receive additional punishment that may consist of one or more of the following:

1. A minimum of fifty dictionary terms or additional assignment may be assigned.

2. Additional days in I.S.S. or Out of School Suspension may be assigned.

3. Major rule infractions could result in placement in Tier 2 for twenty to ninety days.

Contract:

12. I will not deface or destroy school property. I will not move any desk from its current position, unless told to do so.

13. I will keep my work area clean and free of trash.

14. I will honor time given, work and cooperate to the best of my ability to complete all assignments.

15. I will bring all necessary materials, along with my textbooks.

16. I will place the following on each assignment:

My Name

Classroom Teacher’s Name

Class Period

Date

Name of Assignment and/or page numbers

17. I will treat all others with respect. Therefore, I will be treated with respect.

I have read, copied, and understand all of the above.
