![]() I know that parents are having conferences with your child's teacher in the next few days and weeks. If your child needs extra help in reading, his/her teacher will let you know. Mrs. Herrington has asked me to be available to you if the teacher refers you to me for assistance. I can share ideas with you of how to help your child with reading at home and let you borrow take home readers if you are interested. I will be here at school on the teacher workday on Friday, and of course any regular schoolday. If you wish to contact me, please call the office or send a message with your child in their agenda or eagle book. I will be glad to help you if I can. Also, please remember, Woodleaf Elementary became a schoolwide Title One school last year. This means that all students at Woodleaf are considered Title One students and as a Title One parent, you are eligible to visit and use the Parent Center on Ellis Street in Salisbury. Their phone number is (704) 630-6106. Call before you go and ask for Dixie Dalton, the Parent Center Coordinator, just to make sure she is going to be there. You can get a brochure about the Parent Center from your child's teacher or from the office. It is a very valuable resource for you because they have many materials available for you to use with your child. This is a free service for you, so please take advantage of it. Let us hear from you if you have any questions. Mrs. Betsy Anders |
