The year is already flying by! I can't believe it's already January! We will continue to work hard here at Woodleaf in the next few months. Please read with your child every night. Research shows that parents reading aloud to their children, even after the child can read by themselves, is important. You are showing that reading is worth your time, as well as modeling good reading for them. Spending time reading with your children is a great investment. Woodleaf Elementary is a schoolwide Title I school. This means that all students at Woodleaf are considered Title I students and as a Title I parent, you are eligible to visit and use the Parent Center on Ellis Street in Salisbury. Their phone number is (704) 630-6106. Call before you go and ask for Dixie Dalton, the Parent Center Coordinator, just to make sure she is going to be there. You can get a brochure about the Parent Center from your child's teacher or from the office. It is a very valuable resource for you because they have many materials available for you to use with your child. This is a free service for you, so please take advantage of it. Let us hear from you if you have any questions. Mrs. Betsy Anders |
