March News
Links Parent Library: Each elementary school in the system has just received a generous donation from the school system's LINKS program to create a parent resource center. The materials consist of books, DVDs, and several games dealing with subjects on bullying, teasing, anger management, divorce, friendship, coping with anxiety, homework, and others. Beginning on March 7th, Isenberg's resources will be located in our school library and will be available for checkout by parents using your child's account. See Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Puckett in the library should you be interested in borrowing materials. (Please be aware that all materials checked out will need to be returned by June 3rd as the library closes for circulation on that day.) Classes: After completing a short health unit in February, kindergarten and first grade will learn about different ways to make friends and how to resolve conflicts between friends. Careers will be the focus of second grade. Third grade will start a unit on safety which will cover self-protection rules to follow at home and in the community. Fourth grade will begin a unit entitled "I'm Special" that teaches interpersonal skills. Finally, fifth grade will look at friendship and what to do as a by-stander if a friend is bullied.
