It's hard to believe that the last day of school is next Thursday!  Seems like Hurricane Ike just hit us a few weeks ago!

First of all, I'd like to say that I had a more-than-wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week.  You were all so thoughtful and sweet; I am so blessed.  Thank you so much for taking the time to make me feel so appreciated! : ) 

I hope you enjoyed the Portfolio Picnic with your child last week.  (I wish the cold front had come just a little sooner!)  The kids really seemed to enjoy sharing their work and reviewing their progress with you. I also received wonderful feedback from parents.  If I didn't get to talk to you and you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to e-mail me.

This week ...

• NO MORE HOMEWORK and NO SPELLING TEST!
• This Thursday, we will have our 2nd Grade Awards "ceremony" in the classroom.  It's not going to be a formal ceremony;  IT IS VERY CASUAL so there is no need to dress up.  Since we will be leaving for our field trip soon after, please just send kids in their red Roberts polo shirts.  We will begin about 9:15 and end at 10:00.  Every child will receive an envelope with their Awards to take home. 
• Please send a sack lunch with kids on Thursday.  We will have a class picnic at 11:00 before loading the buses. 
•  If you have not turned in a permission slip and/or $10 for the field trip, please send this with your child ASAP.
• Friday is a 3:00 Dismissal since we will no longer have Extended Day. 
• Monday is Memorial Day - NO SCHOOL!

REMINDERS:

Thursday, May 21: Last day of Extended Day

Friday, May 22: 3 o’ clock Dismissal

Monday, May 25: Memorial Day – NO SCHOOL

Wednesday, May 27:  End-of-the-Year Class Party

Thursday, May 28: Last Day of School is a 12:00 DISMISSAL!
