Upcoming Tests and Projects:

There will be a Quran Reading Test on Wed., Dec. 9, and a Quran Test in memorizing Surat Attakweer: verses 1-13 on Friday, Dec. 11

Heritage Students: There will be a Unit Test (the food unit) on Thurs., Dec. 18. Please save all your homework packages.

    Students will be working on a project next week. Please check the guidelines in the package.

     

The Food Project

 

Dear parents,

Students will be working on a project starting next week. Students are expected to choose a traditional plate from their origin country. They will write a script in class mentioning:

  • The name of the plate and its origin
  • The ingredients
  • How is it related to the food pyramid (is it from the meat, milk, bread, vegetable or fat group?
  • Is it rich in carbohydrates, proteins, iron, sugar, fat, or calcium?
  • Is the plate healthy or not healthy? Why or why not?

 

Students will bring their traditional plate and present their project in class on International Day, Wed., Dec. 16.
