**If you are getting this update tonight (May 5, 2012) be sure to check out the moon.  It is at its closest distance to Earth.  It should be at the closest point at 10:34 p.m.**

Ways to have a great day:

a) Always have all of your materials in class (journal/notebook, glossary, scissors, glue, highlighter, crayons or color pencils, workbook, planner, etc.)

b) Always do your homework. There is always homework! Weekly Science and Daily Geos are handed out every Monday. These should be done daily and should be ready for the teacher to check.

c) Every student should be using his/her planner daily. Assignments should be written neatly. Test dates (a week in advance), assignments, and reminders are noted on the board.

Social Studies: We are currently Unit 6 of the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum.

In our textbook, we are currently working in Chapter 8.  We will have a test on Tuesday, May 8.  We may have one more test before the school year ends.

We are still working on Daily Geos.

Science

We have finished our Units in the textbook.  We are working on activities in class.  Your child will be using his/her journal and many grades will be taken from this.

*The last project has been given in Science.  Professor Pnowitahl (Know-it-all) is due on Thursday, May 10.

*Weekly Science is due on Fridays.

Parents: Quiz your children often in Science and Social Studies
