The Central Middle School LMC is excited to bring you better-than-ever access to our vast collection of materials!  We have over 5,000 materials in the LMC.  Last year we updated all of our material subject headings to make your searches on our online catalog better than ever!  Now, when you use the online catalog, you will be able to find out if the book you are interested in has an AR test available.  You will also be able to find out if a book has won any awards.  Stop by and try a new search on your favorite topic today!  More than likely, you will be able to find more results than ever before!

Please look at the award-winning books listed below.  This school year we'd like our students to begin voting for their favorite Mark Twain and Truman Reader books at the state level. Therefore the nominees are listed below for each category. Most of these titles are available for check out in the LMC.

Don't forget about our school store!  New four-gig jump drives are available for only $13.00.  We will also sell science fair project boards beginning in December.

Interested in creating a virtual bookshelf of all of the books you have read, are reading now, or plan to read in the future?  If you answered yes, then you need to check out shelfari.  Here you can create a profile and learn all about the most popular books that you and your friends are reading.  Always make sure you talk to your parents before giving any personal information out online.  Remember, safety is your first concern!  So talk to your parents and explore what Shelfari can do for you!  The address is www.shelfari.com

Need research materials and didn't have time to gather your information from school?  Don't resort to Wikipedia just yet!  Gale offers a variety of online databases suitable for all of your research needs.  Simply find Gale on my list of links on this schoolnotes page.  Follow the link, and then enter the password.  I can't publish the password online, but you may ask for it in the LMC.  We also still subscribe to Grolier online.

Duplicate copies of all of the award books have arrived, and more copies of the Truman books are on their way.  Stop by and check yours out today.
