updated 4/24:

PTSA is sponsoring the CHARACTER COUNTS Program.  Character Counts is designed to reward and encourage our students to live with these traits: trustworthy, encouraging, respectful, responsible, integrity, funny, inquisitive, and caring.  The award will go to one student in our homeroom each month.   For the month of January, I congratulate NOAH TINDALL for possessing the trait of INQUISITIVE-asks a lot of (thought-provoking) questions.  WAY TO GO, NOAH!

Weekly Themes:

-Spelling:  Greek, Russian, Africa, American, Europe, Indian, Japanese, Australia, French, Antarctica, Canadian, Chinese, Mexican, Spanish, Americ, German, Italian, British, Asia, Irish

NEW SPELLING ROUTINE:  Homework is due on FRIDAYS this nine weeks, though students can earn bonus points for turning it in early (+3 on Tuesdays, +2 on Wednesdays, +1 on Thursdays).  Students may choose ANY activities to complete from the contract as long as they total 40 POINTS.

-Language:  adjectives

-Reading:  "Because of Winn-Dixie"

-Social Studies: Midwest; map skills

CURRENT EVENTS ARTICLES MAY NOW ALSO COME FROM THE INTERNET.  Check out the kid-friendly news links below.  Get a head start for the 4th 9 weeks!  CURRENT EVENTS are due no later than Monday, MAY 18th.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REMEMBER:  This is a TENTATIVE plan.  Students should always go by what is in their planners.

**Subject to change.  All classwork is automatically homework if it is not finished in class (unless otherwise specified).  Test dates are subject to change depending upon the "readiness" of the class.
