Found another reading program for the summer. Offered by 99.5, WMAG, in the Greensboro area, We Read, will go throughout the summer. They will be giving away lots of prizes including a Wii and family passes to Emerald Pointe. You can find the info at their website or try this link to access it:

Also, Kannapolis has some free concerts and movies this summer. These look like a great deal of fun.

Speaking of reading----What a wonderful job students did this year with AR!! I am so impressed with all they read which translates to a great deal of learning. The more a person reads, the more that person knows. PLEASE encourage your child to read throughout the summer. Consider getting them together with friends to form a book club where they can discuss the books they read. They can all read the same book or the same genre of book. Just have fun reading.

Now, how did we do with AR?

Well, the top AR readers were:

Garrett Ingold with 389.7 points!!
Bryson Collins with 296.8 points.
Rachel Gunsch with 209.1
JT Isenhour with 205.4

But look at all these other high flying readers:
Elena Turnbull with  180.7 points.
Ashlee Wagoner with 141 points.
Kaelee Franklin with 140.3 points.
Ricky Maldonado with 139.2 points.
Sam Liddle with 132.7 points.
Maria Delgado with 132 points.
Rebecca Poole with 128 points.
Brianna Reeder with 122.4 points.
Shirley Trayeh with 119.5 points.
Carlos Carbajal-Lopez with 112.2 points.

Parents,
Thank you for sharing your children with me this school year. What a blessing they have been! You all have children of which you should be very proud.
Continue to support them as they move forward in school. I expect to hear great things about these children. I would love to have them contact me whenever they have news to share.
     My home e-mail is: lesleydw@bellsouth.net
I would love to hear from you. Also, as students move on in school, let me know if I can be of any assistance. I will have all these books stored above my garage, with easy access to them, if anyone wants a good read this summer or anytime.
Have a wonderful summer. Take time to enjoy each other.
