Learning Corner

Reading: For the first few weeks of school we will be working on the basic book and print awareness skills. Knowing the parts of a book and how to find things such as letters, words, and punct. marks. 

Math:We will begin by learning about the four basic shapes. Then we will spend  learning the numbers 0-5.

Writing: Your child should be able to write their name by the end of the first quarter. Also, in writing we are working on drawing a picture of a person and including all details. 

Sight Words: We will not really push the sight words until January. Usually the children are not developmentally ready to learn to spell until after mid way through the year. We will send home the words we are working on when we start to teach them.

Parent's Corner

Please sign the agendas every night. Help your child write their first and last name and the letters that we are studying. Also, please send in Baby Wipes and Glue Sticks anytime that you can.

Don't forget to stop by and check out the parent star board with extra supplies that are needed. 

Behavior

Plan

North Rowan Elementary School has chosen to use a school-wide behavior plan this year. Each day your child will start on the color green. They can earn or lose colors and points for their behavior. Please look below for a list of colors and meanings.

Purple: Fantastic

Black: Super

Blue: Great

Green: Good

Yellow: Warning

Orange: Time Out

Red: Office
