Learning Corner

Reading: For the first next weeks of school we will be working on sounding out words while reading. Please remember to read the little readers that are sent home each day.

Math:We will be learning the numbers 0-20 over the next few weeks. We will also be learning the shapes sphere and cube.

Writing: Your child should be able to write their first and last name by the end of the second quarter. Also, in writing we are working on listening for sounds while spelling words and putting appropriate space. 

Sight Words: We will send home the words we are working on when we start to teach them. Each month we will have 5 words that the children must master. They must be able to spell, and read the words to fully master them.

Parent's Corner

Please sign the agendas every night. Help your child write their first and last name and the letters that we are studying. Also, please send in Baby Wipes and Glue Sticks anytime that you can.

Don't forget to stop by and check out the parent star board with extra supplies that are needed. 

Behavior

Plan

North Rowan Elementary School has chosen to use a school-wide behavior plan this year. Each day your child will start on the color green. They can earn or lose colors and points for their behavior. Please look below for a list of colors and meanings.

Purple: Fantastic

Black: Super

Blue: Great

Green: Good

Yellow: Warning

Orange: Time Out

Red: Office
