Good start to the year!

We are working on nursery rhymes. The class has worked with the rhymes, Hickory Dickory Dock, Humpty Dumpty, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Little Miss Muffet, and I'm A Little Teapot. The class also works with listening for and naming other rhyming words in stories or songs.

Math activities are working with classifying, sorting, and position words. We enjoyed the book, Tops and Bottoms, which used the words top, middle, and bottom.

Book orders were sent home Friday. Please have orders back by Friday, September 11, with names on back of slips and money attached. Thanks for your orders. It also helps get free books for our class!

We introduced our first sight word, I, on the word wall. Next week is the word, can. We will also start working with our first letter, Mm, by recognizing, writing, and listening for its sound in words.
