Language Arts Update for November 2008 Sixth graders have started Greek Mythology in Language Arts. Some of the stories that they will be reading include: "Arachne" in L.A. text book p.778 "Medusa & Athena" handout from Ms. Cichowski "Gorgon's Head" Students will be focusing on the characteristics of myths. Students will be working on cause and effect relationships, summarizing, analogies, and foreshadowing. Students will be working on hands on activities for the Greek Mythology unit. GREEK MYTHOLOGY WEBSITES: Our novel in Language Arts is "The Bully" by Paul Langan. Students seem to be enjoying this novel in class! *We are sharing books with another class so the novels will not be coming home. Please see homework page or call homework hotline! Please make sure that you are signing and checking your child's agenda! Thanks for all your help in Ms. Cichowski's Class! |
