Research Essay:  Select a location you would recommend for a vacation.  (The location MUST be a real place that is located on the planet Earth.  No imaginary locations will be accepted.)  This location will be the topic of your research essay.  The essay will explain why this location is a good one for a vacation.  Follow the directions below:

 1.  Your Research Essay must have at least 5 sources.  Of the 5 sources, you may only have 2 from the internet.  You may only have 1 interview as one of the 5 sources.  The other 2 sources can be from books, pamphlets, resource books, or other print media.  All 5 sources must be cited in your paper with footnotes and will appear on your Works Cited Page.  You are to use your ISP Chart to write down your information and sources for your paper and your Works Cited Page.  Page R-15 in the Prentice Hall Literature Book has information on the proper way to document your sources on the Works Cited Page.

2.   You will document your sources using embedded footnotes.  Refer to the notes taken in class on April 15 & 16.  If you were absent, get the notes from a classmate.

3.   In Class Research Days will be:

      Periods 2,4,8: April 19, 21, 23

      Periods 1,3,5,7: April 20, 22, 26

If you are not able to fully research your topic on these days, you will need to complete your research on your own time.

4.   Your completed FORMAL OUTLINE is DUE:

       Periods 2,4,6: April 27

       Periods 1,3,5,7: April 28
