Patrick's Technology Grades 6, 7 & 8 Grade 6 Students currently learning the Microsoft program Power Point. They will prepare a simple PowerPoint presentation, followed by review of the various Powerpoint functions. A test will complete this lesson. Students my use the following site for reference information on PowerPoint. http://www.internet4classrooms.com/powerpoint.htm Grade 7 Students have begun a new podcasting project. Working in groups they will choose a first grade level book. Students will submit a project plan, practice and record their book. The final segment of this project will be to present their podcasts to a class of first grade students. Grade 8 Students in eight grade have begun a new lesson; creating a simple web page using Microsoft Office word documents. They will design an educational web page for students in Kindergarten and first grade. View "My Files" on the left navigational buttons for details/directions regarding creating a web page. Parents: FYI. Since the students do not attend computer class everyday, projects may take longer to complete. Class participation is imparative. Computer projects cannot be completed at home. Student ability assessment is done in the classroom while they are working on projects or following teacher directives. Students are given a generous time frame to complete work. (This includes absence due to illness or other reasons.) Students are permitted to come to lab 109 in the morning to complete assignments they have missed due to absence. They may also make arrangements to come to the lab throughout the day to makeup assignments. The students may also work on due assignments during First in Math and Silent Sustained Reading. It is the students responsibility to make arrangements to make up missed assignments.
