 Important Notes for Parents and Students! 

  • Thanksgiving Holidays, NO School 11/26-28th!
  • Extra Credit went home on Friday 11/21!  It is due on 11/24!
  • Please feel free to email me at anytime if you have any questions about your child's academics.
  • Progress Sheets go home every single Friday.  If they do not go home a note is placed in your child's agenda planner.
  • You can contact via phone at 573-1020 ext 211.  During the day I am unable to answer the phone but will return your call as soon as possible.
  • HW is an essential part of the home/school connection.  Please encourage your child to do their homework nightly.
  • Students are expected to read nightly for 30 mins.

Thursday:  Art (10:30-11:00)  Music (11:00-11:30)  Library (11:30-12:00)

One Million Words Challenge!
 
Fourth Graders are no longer learning to read but reading to learn.  We will explore several genres as well as many different forms of literature.  Fourth Graders are expected to read at least One Million Words by the end of the year.  Students will have a weekly book challenge assignment that will count as both a reading/writing grade.  The assignment will go home on Fridays and is due by the following Friday.  Students MAY turn in their assignment early.

Students are expected to be able to read words correctly as well as spell highly recognized words correctly in addition to using correct spelling patterns. 

Nightly Homework 

Homework should be done each time it is assigned.  Homework is a a home/school connection.  It is a great way to enhance school learning while allowing the parent/student to connect with happenings of the day.
