       You might have noticed on our new web site a program called Study Island. Study Island is an internet based program used at Aquinas Academy to enrich the language arts and math curriculm.  Its purpose is to reinforce and/or remediate skills in these content areas.  As an internet based program, a particular strength of Study Island is that it is accessible both at school and at home.  Working on this program 15-30 minutes a week should increase their basic skills.  Soon your child will learn their password and begin to use this program at school.  After that you can encourage your child to spend time at home on the computer using Study Island.

  We have a new religion series this year.  The web page is www.WEBELIEVEweb.com for additional review.

 

Monday- review in class for the test on Wednesday also a worksheet - in not finished in class need to finish for homework.

Students can turn in any service hours they have done at any time

SCIENCE

 Monday 11/16 - Unit D lesson 2 assessment worksheet (the other side of lesson 1)

 Tuesday & Wednesday  - review in class for the quiz on Thursday 11/19 on Lesson 1 & lesson 2

     review all key concepts and the definitions

  ** we will be starting in our new science book after this quiz

Reminders

Book Fair is going on right now.  Students may purchase books (and erasers & pencils)

2. 4th graders are going to church on Wed.  - need to be in uniform and we will be eating lunch at a different time (11:15)  

3.  Aquinas Academy is collecting items for our annual Thanksgiving Drive to help the food bank.  4th grade is to bring in shampoo.  Thank you for your generosity.

4. "Change Wars"  is going on.Each homeroom will be collecting change as part of the library's effort to promote literacy.  More information can be found on the handout that went home.

5.  Boys interested in playing basketball need to have a physical before starting practice.

6. chess clubs meets on Wed. 11/18 

7.  The Legion of Mary meets every Thursday 3:00 to 4:00 in the Formation building.  All boys and girls are encouraged to join.  Check the handout. 

8. Students should have a chapter book at all times to read when they finish their work and in the morning.  That way getting all their required AR points won't be too difficult.
