Gunter Physical Science for the week of October 19th

All Classes- Element Symbol Test on Friday!  30 points for the 30 key elements.  Earn bonus points by learning mor elements.  Spend at least 5 minutes each night quizzing the elements and the symbols!

Adopt an Element Project- due Weds 10/28.  Each student has an element to research.  We will be using the Internet Tuesday, and going to the library Weds this week.  Students need to create a poster for their element and complete the worksheet.

Monday- Draw a Bohr model of your element in your Journal- due Tuesday.  Study Element symbols.

Tuesday & Weds- Work on Adopt an element Project- due 10/28 (next week)

Thursday- last chance to reveiw for the symbol test on Friday!

Monday- Atomic Theory timeline.  Worksheet due Tuesday. Use pages 125 -129.

Tuesday- Finsih Atomic Structure Chart in your Journal.  Due Weds

Weds- Work in Periodic Table Families- due Monday.  Color Chart and write two facts for each family in your Journal.

Thursday- same as Weds.

Periods 4 and 5

Monday- Finish Atomic Structure WS- due Tuesday.

Tuesday- Work on Periodic Table Families.  Metals due Weds.  Use pages 138 -145.  Color chart, and complete WS.

Weds- Complete Non-metals.  Color chart and complete WS.

Thursday- Complete Halogens and Inert Gases.  Periodic Table Family Chart and papers due Monday.

Grades should be updated on Weds 10/12 to include the States of Matter Test.

                1) list the items from least to greatest density.

                2) Answer lab questions

Thursday- Bring an item to school that has a diameter of 6 cm or less (about 2 ½ inches) that can get wet.  Due Friday  5 points

Period 4 and 5

Monday- Read pages 24 -25, Journal WS questions 1, 2, & 3 only  due Tuesday

Monday- Card Challenge  (10 points, due Tuesday)

Tuesday- Read & Share Science letter with your parnets (signature due Friday)

Weds- Bring and object to school on Thursday that is "apple size" or smaller.

Thursday- Remind parents to attend Back to School Night on Thursday from 6:30 - 830.  Parent signature due Friday.
