Please remember that there is no school Jan 19-21.
Math: We are working on multiplication facts. Your child will have homework in his/her folder. You can help at home by checking homework and giving your child 5 problems each night.
Reading: You can help at home by having your child read each night for 10-15 minutes. They will have school library books or getting books from the public library will help.
Spelling: Words: There will be no spelling words or spelling homework for these two days.
If your child would like to get a head start, here are the words for the following week:
Sarah, Samatha, Beverly, Kerrington:
team meal east peach reach sneak leave heat feast neat
Cameron, Tori, Courtney, Halee, Ta'Lee, :
slow whole hope blow joke wrote show yellow goes toe alone hole snow close November know
Homework:
Mon. - Thurs.:
Your child has a spelling homework notebook. On the inside of the front cover is a Spelling Menu. They may choose anything from this list to do for homework. I want them to have choices in what they do. If you are not sure what the activity is, just let them do their best guess. The main thing is to have them using the words each night. If you decide to do it orally then just write me a note on the homework pg. in the notebook and they will get credit for it. I hope this is painless.
Science/Social Studies;
Your child is in the regular class for these subjects so you should watch for study notes and test dates. Please go over the notes each night. This will really help them prepare for the tests.
Writing: They are writing fictional stories this week. We are working on using capital letters and periods. We are also working on spacing and alignment of our letters.
Be sure your child has a good night's rest and a good breakfast in the mornings.
