~Social Studies & Science~

Our science units include the following topics:

In social studies, students will learn about:
*government and citizenship
*agriculture/food production
*map skills
*our exact location through a unit called "Where in the World Are We?"

~WRITING~

We will be preparing your child for the 4th grade state writing test. Third grade students will take a local county writing test in March. Students will learn to focus their stories on one topic, as well as add detail to make it interesting.

We will begin the year by learning about place value, value, and the many ways to write a number. This will build an excellent foundation for understanding all of the other topics we will cover this year, which include:

We will cover many genres and skills this year in order to prepare students for the end-of-year state reading test. From fairy tales, realistic fiction, non-fiction, & novels--we will read it all!
