The week of November 9^th

Also, thank you to all our parents that helped with our Halloween Party last week! It was GREAT! 

*In reading this week we will be listening for the /g/ sound. We will be listening for the HARD SOUND of /g/. This sound is in the beginning of gum, garden, ghost, and garbage.

(We will NOT be learning the G as a soft sound found in the word giraffe. Giraffe is the /j/ sound.  The G will ALWAYS be the HARD sound in Kindergarten)

Our new high frequency word is ON.

*We will continue word building with the short a sound using the consonant sounds we have learned.

-ap, -at, -am, -an, -ad

*Also, we will continue to rhyme & breaking words into syllables.

Show n' Tell THURSDAY: Please, bring in an item that begins or ends with any of the letter sound of G.  (No /j/iraffe)

This month we will also be learning about the first Thanksgiving.  We will also discuss the lifestyles of the Native Americans and pilgrims.

We will be going over the numbers to 10 in math.

In religion we will continue discuss the Saints, how God made all people, and continue to talk about being thankful.
