Welcome to the school notes page of Sharon Mault, Intervention Specialist

The Intervention Program is designed to assist parents and students to ensure a successful educational experience with Erwin Middle School. Students who attend school regularly, remain drug free and follow the rules tend to be the ones that are better prepared for high school.

The Life Savers Club from Erwin won first place in the Tobacco Quiz Bowl held at the Salisbury Mall April 1st. I am so proud of the club members and they certainly were prepared for the contest.

To Succeed in school, children need to be in school. As a parent, make sure your child attends school every day.

This is from the Parent Partners Newsletter.  I found it to be an interesting message.

We have a dream inside ourselves,

A gift to us at birth,

to guide us and protect us

On our journey on this earth.

We all have to find the courage

To find the peace you seek.

So live your dream and live your dream

Don't be afraid to try.

Just take your soul by the hand

And let your spirit fly.

Parents and students with concerns may call or come by for information.

The Peer Mediators have been working hard to share many messages with their peers this year. So far they have taught in grades 6, 7, and 8 about Bullying, Substance Abuse, Coping Skills, Diversity and will teach the last lesson for this year on Test Taking and Stress Management. We also celebrated "Mix It Up" at lunch day and it was a great time for students. We will be having our year-end celebration on June 5th to thank our mediators for all the differences they have made within our school.

Please remember that attendance and school success go hand in hand.
