Language Arts
- Book and Print skills
- Reading predicable books
- Recognize capital and lowercase letters A-Z in order and out of order
- Recognize sounds of letters A-Z
- Learn and practice high frequency words. There are 25 words that the students need to recognize and spell by the end of the year. They include: the, of, and, a, to, in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for, on, are, as, with, his, they, I, at, be, this, have, from
Writing
- Writing first and last name
- Writing letters A-Z both capital and lowercase
- Writing numbers 0-30
- When drawing a picture make sure they add a setting
- Labeling items in their drawing by sounding out
- Starting a sentence with a capital letter, spacing between words, and ending with a period
- Writing patterned sentences
- Writing multiple sentences
Math
- Sorting by color, size, shape, and numbers
- Recognizing and creating different patterns
