What we need to practice and work on for the 4th Quarter

Language Arts
  •  Book and Print skills
  •  Reading predicable books
  •  Recognize capital and lowercase letters A-Z in order and out of order
  •  Recognize sounds of letters A-Z
  •  Learn and practice high frequency words.  There are 25 words that the students need to recognize and spell by the end of the year.  They include: the, of, and, a, to, in, is, you, that, it, he, was, for, on, are, as, with, his, they, I, at, be, this, have, from

Writing

  •  Writing first and last name
  •  Writing letters A-Z both capital and lowercase 
  •  Writing numbers 0-30
  •  When drawing a picture make sure they add a setting
  •  Labeling items in their drawing by sounding out
  •  Starting a sentence with a capital letter, spacing between words, and ending with a period 
  • Writing patterned sentences
  • Writing multiple sentences

Math

  • Sorting by color, size, shape, and numbers
  • Recognizing and creating different patterns
  • Recognizing, counting, and writing numbers 0-10
  • Completing simple visual tasks and puzzles
  • Differentiating between the days of the week and the months of the year
