 The preschool children are embracing the unit Celebrating Me and My Family this month. We are working on naming body parts, recognizing our feelings and developing a sense of self. Later in the month we will enjoy various versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Here are some of the songs we will be singing for the unit. Are you Sleeping? Thumbkin Hokey Pokey This is the Way Open Shut Them, Open Shut Them Be sure to count, count, count. Remind your child to put their finger on each item as they are counting.  Zoophonic Curriculum is so much fun. As we begin learning the sounds of each letter encourage your child to the find sounds they know in magazine, the newspaper or while you're shopping. It's great fun to read the signs such as McDonald's or packages such as Goldfish. This is a wonderful ways to create an excitment for reading. Our goal is to know all of the sounds of the letters of the alphabet by the end of the year. We are so excited to be involved in the Books to Grow program. Each week the children get to take home books to read and activities to do. Please be sure to take special care of these wonderful books.
