         For the week of March 15, 2010

Tuesday - Do not forget about the science club meeting, we will make geodesic domes.

Monday - Tuesday - We have been practicing for the science iLeap test.  No homework.

                  For the week of March 8. 2010

Chapter E3 test on Tuesday.  Use your Lesson 1, 2, and 3 tests as your study guides.

Wednesday - Define the 15 vocabulary words on page E104.  This is due Thursday and will be graded.

          For the week of March 1, 2010

Chapter E3, Lesson 3 Test will be on Thursday, March 4th.  Complete and study your study guide. 

Friday - 3-5-10 - Complete Chapter E3 review pages E102-103.

                 For the week of February 22, 2010

Friday - Define the 3 vocabulary words on page E92. the red check questions on pages E 92 - 97 and the 5 review questions on page E 97.  This is an in class assignment which is due on Monday.

The Chapter E3, Lesson 3 test will be given next week on Thursday, March 4th. 

For the week of February 8, 2010 -

Due on Wednesday - Complete study guide for the Chapter E3, Lesson 2 test.  Study for the test that you will take tomorrow.

Thursday - You will take the Chapter E3, Lesson 2 test today.  Did you study your study guide?

Friday - No homework - have a great Mardi Gras vacation!

For the week of February 1, 2010

All students - please try to bring paper towel or bathroom tissue tubes to school for science class.  We are going to make a flashlight.  Thank you!

Monday - Period 1 only - complete the 5 vocabulary words on page E84 and the first 2 red check questions in this lesson (Chapter E3, Lesson 2).

Tuesday - We are working on making series and parallel circuits in class.  No homework today!









    For the week of January 19, 2010

1. Questions on page E79-81 due on Wednesday for periods 1-6.  Due Thursday for period 7.
2. Chapter E3 Lesson 1 test has been moved to next Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
3. Study guide will be issued on Friday.






       For the week of January 11, 2010

Monday - 1.  Define the 9 vocabulary words on page E76 and complete the 1 red check
                   question on page E77. 
              2.  Chapter E3, Lesson 1 test will be next week.
              3.  Report cards will be sent home today.  Parents, please sign and
                   return the signature form.  Thank you!
              4.  Students who turned in their Science Club membership form received a Sign
                   up sheet for the first Science Club activity - The Great American Balloon Car
                   Race which will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 3:30 - 5:00.
                   Parents or guardians must sign and and the student must return the Activity Form
                   by the deadline before science club members can attend.









       For the week of January 4, 2010

I am still in need of D size batteries for our electrical energy unit.  If anyone can donate new D size batteries please send them to school with your child.  THANK YOU!   Ms. Dee

Report cards will be sent home on Friday.  Parents, please sign and return the signature form for the report card.

Monday -  We are starting Chapter E3, lesson 1, page E 72.  Students should read this lesson.











     For the week of December 7, 2009

Monday - Define the 4 vocabulary words, answer the 4 red check questions and the 5 review questions found on pages E 60 - E 65.  This is due in class on Tuesday.

Tuesday - Complete worksheet and study guide.  Due in class on Wednesday.

Wednesday - Study your study guide for the test you will take tomorrow!

Thursday - Test - Chapter E2, Lesson 3.

6th grade students will take 2nd NINE WEEKS EXAMS this nine weeks.

Tuesday, Dec. 15 -       5th and 6th hour exams
Wednesday, Dec 16 -   2nd and 4th hour exams
Thursday, Dec 17, -     1st and 3rd hour exams
Friday, Dec. 18, -         7th period exam  (today is a half day at school for students)












          For the week of November 30, 2009

Do not forget to return your field trip form.  The field trip to Northshore to see the play is this
Friday, December 4th.

Monday - complete both sides of the worksheet you received in class today.





     For the week of November 16, 2009

  **Do not forget to bring your lunch if you did not choose a cafeteria lunch for the field trip to the Honey Island Swamp on Thursday.

**Next week is Thanksgiving break - no school.

Chapter E2, lesson 2 test will be given on Wednesday.
 All study guides are due on Wednesday for a 10 point grade.

     We have been working in class on a power point presentation - Evidence of a Chemical Change.  No homework this week.

Students were issued an experiment to complete at home called Pennies and Paper Clips.  This is due Monday, November 2, 2009.  Please return the paper clip and the completed worksheet.

Monday - Wednesday - We are working on an in class lab - Measuring volume and mass to determine density and buoyancy. Read Chapter E2, Lesson 1.

Thursday - Chapter E2, Lesson 1 Question and vocabulary are due by Friday.

Monday - Complete chapter E1 review, pages E 40 - 41.

Tuesday - Complete worksheet - chapter E 1.   Study for your chapter test.  Use lesson 1, 2, 3, and 4 tests as a study guide.

Wednesday - Chapter E 1 test is today!  Did you study?

Complete study guide for the Chapter E1, Lesson 4 test.  The Chapter E1, Lesson 4 test will be
on Thursday.  Study your study guide!

Next week students will take the Chapter E1 test which will cover Lessons 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Use
your Lesson 1, 2, 3. and 4 tests that were returned to you to study!






     For the week of September 28, 2009

Monday -  No homework.  We are working on Chapter E1, Lesson 4.  We are completing a lab
activity on Acids and Bases.





     For the week of September 21, 2009

Chapter E1, lesson 3 test will be on Thursday.  Study guides will be given to students on Monday or Tuesday.  Use the study guide to study for the test!




    For the week of September 14, 2009

 
1.  We will finish our lab reports for our activity "What is the effect of expanding CO2 gas on a film canister?" 
2.  Students will receive a study guide for chapter E1, Lesson 2 to complete.  This study guide should be completed and brought to class on Tuesday.
3.  Use the study guide to study for the chapter E1, Lesson 2 test.
4.  Chapter E1, Lesson 2 test will be given on Wednesday.
5.  Complete worksheet in class.  No homework.

Tuesday - Color the radioactive elements.  Do not forget to make a key.

Wednesday - Thursday - For chapter E1, lesson 3 - define the vocabulary words, answer the 4 red check questions in this lesson and the 5 questions on page E27.

Wednesday - complete the "Simply Symbols" worksheet, bring it to class on Thursday.

1.  Answer the red check questions found on pages E 6 - 10.

3.  Complete worksheet - What Makes Up an Atom?  and   Gather Data
4.  Study guide for chapter E1, lesson 1 test will be given on Friday.  Complete the study guide      for homework if not completed in class.
5.  Chapter E1, Lesson 1 test will be given on Tuesday, August 25.
