Current News:

We are off to a great start!

Your child should have the following folders / notebooks for my class:

Homeroom: homework folder, morning work folder, writing journal, writing folder

Blocks: math notebook, math/ science folder, science notebook

I am using a weekly contract to manage my math block. Your child has a number of assignments/ tasks to complete weekly. They are housed in the math/ science folder until the contract is due usually on Thursday. This requires your child to make educational decisions for himself and a bit of organization. We are working on these skills together. They will serve your child well in the future.

Homework:

I will assign math homework nightly. As a general rule students homework will be the following:

Monday-Keeping Skills Sharp / Mental Math (worksheet)

Tuesday-Computation practice

Wednesday-word problems

Thursday-practice with current skill

Science will be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Today I sent home with students a page to allow them to access their enVision math book at home. They will create their own user name and password and then they will be able to access the book and all of the tools that go with it.

Students will have individual assignments on PI that they can access nightly. Students should be using PI nightly to sharpen skills.
